New Delhi, August, 24, 2017:- More than 10 lakhs people have lost their dwellings in one of most devastating flood in Seemanchal regions of Bihar. Panic situation continues to prevail among victims.
Under such trying condition Jamiat has started relief work on war footing, by establishing a relief centre in Jamiay Imdadiya, Madhepur, Katihar. So far Jamiat has distributed more than 10, thousand food kits to the flood victims. It is to be noted that Jamiat has established relief camps in Araria, Kishanganj and Purniya too since inception.
Today, Maulana Mahmod Madani, General Secretary of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind briefed that the Central office of Jamiat has extended 20 lakh rupees as financial cooperation to the flood victims in two installments. Besides that Jamiat will arrange animal sacrifice on occasion of Idul Azha inside the relief camps in flood affected areas. Maulana Madani has appealed to the philanthropists that this festival of Eid Al Adha, they should offer qurbani in the affected area for earning the manifold bounty of Allah Almighty. He also informed that jamiat units across the country are actively involved in providing relief to the victims. He also told that Jamiat had set an shining example of communal harmony by distributing food to the flood victims continuously for three days in Sarasawati Mandir Hostel.
In view of rising numbers of casualty, Jamiat has decided to get FIR registered on behalf of the relatives of those missing during the flood. Several persons have been missing and still could not be traced.
Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi, Secretary jamiat Ulama-i-Hind has informed that that cadres of Jamiat have been providing relief to the flood victims in far-flung areas even where government machineries failed to get access. Maulana Qasmi after undertaking a survey in Kishanganj, Thakurganj, Puwakhali, Meerbhatta, Ultabari, and Bahadurgarh etc. has informed that that these places have been completed inundated by water causing collapse of most dwellings. Haji Mohammad Muslim, treasurer of Jamiat Kishanganj set an example of communal harmony by distributing food to the flood victims continuously for three days in Sarasawati Mandir Hostel.
Maulana Nazim, General Secretary of Jamiat Bihar, Mufti Mohammad jawed Iqbal, Kishanganj, Maulana Giyasuddin, Maulana Qari Naushad Aadil, Maulana Mohsin Azam etc. have been distributing food kits to the victims in various areas. Maulana Abdullah Bukhari, President Jamiat Ulama Mungher has also reached flood affected areas with relief materials.
